This is to notify parents that students who participate in the 21st Century After School program will be 15 to 20 minutes late. A fire alarm was pulled at BPS resulting in evacuation of the building. The fire department is on scene and all has been cleared. Late bus dismissal will impact Blackstone and the Complex.

NOTICE: We apologize for the lack of detail in the recent message about water bottles and the confusion it may have caused. This message is intended to provide context and clarification. We are resuming the expectations and practice that was in place before COVID: students who want to carry around a water bottle during the school day may do so if the bottle is clear/see-through and they can bring store-bought water to school. The bottle must be empty and can be filled with water once the student arrives at school. Students who bring lunch to school and/or who bring snacks and drinks for after-school sports and activities may continue to bring bottled/canned drinks to be consumed at lunch or practice. If your child has a situation that you believe warrants an exception, please contact your child's principal.

NCPS is committed to ensuring a physical environment for our students, staff, and visitors that is safe, so this summer was spent making some upgrades to each of our schools, including new locks on every classroom door and upgrades to our camera system. When students return to school on Monday, August 21, they will enter buildings through a touchless security screening system that can detect "weapons while ignoring most harmless personal items." For more information about the security screening system - "Evolv Express" - a Parents Guide and a Brief about the product are available.
