Principal's Message
It has been my privilege to serve the Nottoway Middle School family as principal since August 2017. Prior to arriving in Nottoway, I earned a B.S. in Biology and Secondary Education, a MS. in education from The State University of New York at Oswego, and a Post Master’s Certificate for Principals and Supervision from Virginia Commonwealth University.
My educational career started with 16 years as a Science Teacher in grades 7 - 12. In 2004, my administrative career began in Westmoreland County, Virginia. In that capacity I have served as an assistant principal at the middle school level, and a principal at the middle school and high school level. While working in the central office, I served as the SOL Specialist, Director of Lead Teachers and Division Director of Testing. Each of these positions have prepared me for my role here in Nottoway County Public Schools.
Some view the middle school years as difficult, yet I see them as a vibrant time of discovery. Middle school students are figuring out who they are and where they are going. It is truly an exciting time. The faculty, staff and I enjoy working with your children every day. Thank you for sharing your children with us.
Please contact me to discuss any ideas, suggestions or concerns you may have.
-Jane Geyer, Principal
