Welcome To Burkeville Elementary School Where The Faculty and Staff
Make A Difference In the Lives Of The Children We Serve!

Mission Statement: Burkeville Elementary School's mission is to provide a learning environment conducive to educating children using innovative teaching strategies. BES encourages parent and community involvement to instill a love of learning. We will provide experiences to positively encourage students to be successful both academically and socially.

Vision Statement: We strive to educate each student to develop a positive self-image and achieve his or her highest potential.

chandra lewisI am Chandra T. Lewis, and I am honored and excited about being the Principal here at Burkeville Elementary School.  My goal is to provide a safe learning environment for all students to foster academic and social success, to provide a safe environment for faculty and staff, and also to effectively communicate and partner with parents and the community to meet the educational needs of all students.  Under my leadership respect, accountability, support and excellence will be held highly and will be evident here at Burkeville Elementary School.

Burkeville Elementary School serves students in Headstart,  Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Early Childhood Special Education. Our primary focus is Reading in which we will work towards having all of our students reading on a first grade level as they complete Kindergarten, and to incorporate 21st Century Learning Skills to motivate and encourage our students to become lifelong learners.

Therefore our goal as a faculty and staff is to work together with our parents and the community, to make sure that we can give each child the opportunity and experiences needed to ensure a successful beginning to their academic career.

If you have any concerns, suggestions or would like to volunteer, feel free to contact me at 434-767-5236.
